In Brownsville Texas customs officers at the Gateway International bridge seized 5,000 rounds of ammunition from a 2005 Ford Excursion heading into Mexico.

The driver 21 of Matamoros Mexico was transferred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for investigation after the ammunition boxes were found Wednesday morning.

The officers found 4,000 rounds of 223 caliber ammunition and 1,000 rounds of 7.62 x 39 caliber ammunition hidden under the vehicles rear seat.
