Teen Gets 33 Years In Death Near Bar

A San Antonio teen accused of trying to commit a double murder, but succeeding at only one behind a Southwest side bar has been sentenced to 9 years in prison. Edward Anthony Deleon 19 was set to go to trial this week for the June 2010 killing of Mario Alfonso Rodriguez and the attempted murder of Rodriguez’s girlfriend.

He instead pleaded no contest to both charges. Amy Norwood told police she was waiting in a car in the back parking lot of County Gold Bar while Rodriguez met Deleon for a drug transaction behind the vehicle.

Norwood claims she heard a gunshot and then approaching footsteps according to police affidavit. The assailant tried to fire at her but the gun just clicked she said then he ran. Norwood later identified Deleon in a photo lineup.

En cambio, no declaró concurso de ambos cargos. Amy Norwood dijo a la policía que esperaba en un automóvil en el estacionamiento trasero del condado barra de oro mientras que Rodríguez reunió Deleon para una transacción de drogas detrás del vehículo.
