A statewide roundup of convicted sex offenders who are in the U.S. ilegally netted 50 arrests in Texas, including seven in San Antonio.

Those arrested in South and Central Texas all had convictions for sex crimes such as indecency with a child, sexual conduct, aggravated sexual assault of a child and sex offenses against a child.

The seven arrested in San Antonio and South Texas are citizens of Mexico, ICE said.  Three had already been removed before but returned and they will be charged on the federal level with illegal re entry.
